As and when travel starts to return to a decent level, and you are starting to look forward to tucking into your free flight snack - think again !!!

Due to the huge financial impact on the airlines this year, they need to try and see some money coming back into the business - however large or small.

As a result, a major airline, Lufthansa along with Swiss and Austrian (and I'm sure others will follow) will stop offering complimentary snacks on board from spring next year on short and medium haul. Pay on board snacks will be offered.

This follows British Airways lead, who famously teamed up with M&S food, and this has apparently been a success for both parties

Lufthansa, Swiis and Austrian will continue to offer complementary bottled water, and great news for chocolate lovers as it looks like Swiss Air will continue their complementary Swiss THANKYOU chocolates !!!

Of course, if you are flying First Class, you needn't worry about your food and drink been adversely affected...(I wish I could join you !!!)

During this crazy Coronavirus year, a lot of noise has been made regarding retail and hospitality sectors so badly affected (which I understand).

Although the UK government have helped with furloughing, this year the airlines are on their proverbial knees. Tens, if not hundreds of thousands of people have lost their jobs and others adversely affected

The great thing about the airline industry, is they have built solid businesses over the years. This will help towards the airlines making a strong, solid recovery over the next period, as they recover from the worst time in their history .

Stay safe and keep well
Best wishes
